G7 to consider ways to use Russian money to restore Ukraine

WASHINGTON, Oct 11 (PRIME) -- The Group of Seven leading industrial nations condemns Russia’s military operation in Ukraine and supports a possible peace settlement, while the G7 plans to consider ways of using Russian funds in restoration of Ukraine, the G7 said in a joint statement on Tuesday.

“No country wants peace more than Ukraine. … In solidarity with Ukraine, the G7 Leaders welcome President Zelenskyy’s readiness for a just peace,” the statement read, adding that one of the elements of the peace is “ensuring Ukraine’s recovery and reconstruction, including exploring avenues to do so with funds from Russia.”

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy earlier even signed a decree that prevents possible negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
